FNATIC Sing Poizon for a Trial Period
Ahead of their run in the playoffs stage of ESL Pro League Season 15, FNATIC have released an update on their roster – Valentin "poizon" Vasilev has been signed for a trial period, while Peppe "Peppzor" Borak will continue standing in for the team “for the next few months’ events”.
23-years-old Bulgarian Poizon is mainly known for his two-year tenure with Complexity Gaming from 2019 to 2021, while Peppzor is a 19-years-old Swedish member of Fnatic Rising. Both of them recently helped the team to qualify for the European RMR for PGL Major Antwerp, as well as competed in the group stage of ESL Pro League 15.
Over the last few months, FNATIC have been struggling with having a stable roster. First, in February they decided to bench the 22-years-old British Owen "smooya" Butterfield, who at first showed great results but then started underperforming due to mental issues. Later the team agreed with NIP on Ludvig "Brollan" Brolin’s transfer.
On top of these changes, the team’s longstanding member Freddy "KRIMZ" Johansson was not able to attend EPL 15 in time due to a positive COVID-19 test. Thus, the team was forced to start the event with three stand-ins – besides Poizon and Peppzor, there the team also played with another Fnatic Rising member Matias 'Banjo' Kivistö.
Despite such problems with the roster, the team managed to make it out of Group A, where they placed 3rd with a 3-2 score. While they lost to NIP (0-2) and Entropiq (0-2), the team managed to outplay L4Org (2-1), G2 (2-1) and MOUZ (2-1). Thus, they will start the playoffs from the round of 12.
