NAVI Reverse Sweep Gambit in StarLadder RMR Grand Finals

Natus Vincere have become the champions of StarLadder CIS RMR 2021. In the tournament’s grand finals they defeated Gambit Esports with a 3-2 score – after being down 0-2, NAVI managed to win the final three maps. This match ends a 15-games win streak by Gambit, who managed to win 15 series in a row since the early June, with two of them being against NAVI.

Both Gambit and NAVI qualified to playoffs from Group A, where they placed first and second respectively. Later in playoffs Gambit defeated K23 (2-0) and NAVI (2-1), while NAVI outplayed Team Spirit twice with a 2-1 score – first in the opening match, and then in the lower bracket final.

Being a team from the upper bracket, Gambit had a one-map advantage in the grand finals. The team managed to win its first pick, Ancient, with a 16-7 score. Later, however, NAVI won three maps in a row – Dust II (16:9), Mirage (16:11) and Inferno (16:13).

StarLadder CIS RMR 2021 was this year’s second Regional Major Ranking event that featured a $100,000 prize pool. Following the event, the leaders of the regional rankings are now NAVI (3680 points), Spirit (3530), Gambit (3475), K23 (2575) and forZe (2450).
