Next CS:GO Major will be Held by ESL in Brazil
ESL have revealed that they will organize the next CS:GO major tournament. The event will be held on October 31st – November 13th in Rio de Janeiro, the second-most populous city of Brazil. The final stage of the major will be played with live audience on November 10th – 13th at Jeunesse Arena with a ~15,000 capacity.
The eighteen’s major tournament will become the first event of the series to be held outside of the two main regions – Europe and North America. Earlier the city was supposed to host the sixteenth major in 2020; however, it was postponed and eventually cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tickets for this year’s event will become available later today, on Wednesday 25th. Meanwhile the tickets for the 2020 event remain valid.
ESL have not announced any changes to the major’s format – just as the recent majors, IEM XVII – Rio Major 2022 will feature 24 teams competing for a $1,000,000 prize pool in three stages.
The previous major – PGL Major Antwerp 2022 – concluded last weekend with FaZe Clan’s victory. In the grand finale of the event they managed to defeat Natus Vincere with a 2-0 score.
