23-years-old player from South Africa Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek has decided to end his seven-year-long career in Counter-Strike. Groesbeek explained that it was a hard decision, but he decided to return to America and focus on his other passion, business.
The player started playing CS:GO competitively in 2014 and spent four years in his home region competing for Bravado Gaming. Being quite successful in the region, he decided to move to North America, where he competed for Team Envy (2019), ATK (2019 – 2020), and Cloud9 (2020).
Most recently he played for Extra Salt from December 2020 to October 2021 – with them he placed second at Funspark ULTI 2020, as well as emerged victorious at several DreamHack events. Over his entire career he won about $110,000 in prize money.
